Author’s note:
Amy did not make her declaration of love that night on Raw
He could not believe that he was
going to watch this thing. He was positive that it would be him opposite of
her. Matt frowned as he realized that he had been holding onto a fantasy. He
tried to get her to not go through with it.
Amy wanted to run away with him but Glen was her child’s father. No
matter how much she hated him, she had to make it work. She wanted him to
understand what and why she was doing it.
Matt acknowledged that he noticed she
needed to pick up the pieces and move on with her life. He had backed out of
two engagements with her. Glen was completely serious about marrying her. Matt
wanted to buy the hands of time to give him back the days when Amy was his. He
would tell her everyday that he loved her. He would not allow words to get in the
way of not telling her. The more Matt sat and thought about it, the more he
realized that he could not witness this travesty.
Matt packed up his gear. He wondered
what she would wear. He smiled… Amy always looked good in whatever she chose.
How come it couldn’t be him with it all? Matt knew the angels would smile as
she walked down the aisle. He wondered if they would kneel to pray. He became
enraged as he thought about Glen placing the ring on her finger.
Matt began accepting realizations.
She would never walk into his house. Amy would not be sleeping beside him. The
only thing he is left with is her shadow that sometimes waltzes with his. Matt
was not sure if eh could handle seeing them together. Matt tried to stay at the
arena but his broken heart urged him to leave. Before Matt pulled off her
silently whispered… Sorry, I am about to miss your wedding day!
******************************************************************
Today you'll pick up all the pieces
And get on with your life
All i can
hope is that you're happy
'cause today you're someone elses wife
Right now i
wish that i could turn back
And beg the hands of time
For the days that i
remember (oh baby)
The days when you were mine
And if i
never said i love you
It's cause the
words got in the way
Now all i do
is say i'm sorry
Sorry i
missed your wedding day
I'll bet you looked good at the altar
I'll bet he knew the words to say
And the angels smiled when you walked
down the aisle
You both knelt down to pray
As he put his ring on your finger
I know there's just one thing left to
say
All i can do
is say i'm sorry
Sorry i
missed your wedding day
So sorry
Solo
You won't be walking through the door
anymore
You won't be sleeping in this bed
anymore
Tho' i swear i see
your shadow waltz accross my floor
And i don't
know if i can take it
Should we ever meet again
Cause i know that we'll be strangers
When he introduces friends
I tried to make it to the church now
baby
A broken heart got in the way
All i can do
is tell you i'm sorry
Sorry i
missed your wedding day
I really hope you're happy baby
Tho' it's killing me to say
All i can do
is say i'm sorry
Sorry i
missed you're wedding day
Sorry i
missed you're wedding
I'm sorry i
missed you're wedding day
I'm sorry i
missed you're wedding day
I'm sorry i
missed you're wedding day
