Summary: Adam is in a precarious position
When I sleep
I have dreams about
the way we used to kiss
About the way you
used to hold me
And say nothin would ever harm me
When we first met
Oh how you charmed
me
Made me smile when
I was down
Big pimpin' around the town
You and me
Whenever they'd see
you
They'd see me
A lover and a
friend to me you were
How did it end
How it hurts
To not have you in
my life
when I wanted to be your wife
Nora lay
curled in a ball trying to go to sleep. She wondered where Adam was. It wasn’t
like he needed to be out with the guys. They had made a deal that while they
were in
Nora wanted to just give him space.
He was trying to advance his career. She was stuck in another rut. She faced a
hard truth that if you are not blond then you are meant to be on the side of
evil. She didn’t offer herself out as eye candy. She was a wrestler and nothing
less than that. He used to admire her for that. She remembered when she and
Shane called it quits, how he always try to make her
smile. She never thought in a million years that he would ask her out and they
would date. He showed her the time of her life. But that was then this is now.
Nora was working on her cross word
puzzle when he walked in. There was something completely different about him.
He didn’t smile the same way. She could smell the alcohol and someone’s
perfume. She would bet money on Trish or Nidia. They always called her a prude
and less than what Adam deserved. She listened as he said that they needed to
talk. She watched as he explained that
things were not going the way they should.
He just wasn’t ready to settle down. He was going to move out of the
house and move in with Jay until he found himself a place. He hoped there would
be no hard feelings and hoped that they would still be friends. Nora laughed to
suppress her tears. She nodded and moved to the bathroom. This was a hard pill
for her to swallow. He was more than a lover he was her closest friend. Now
that was gone. She did not know what hurt worse losing a relationship or losing
the man when she wanted to be his wife.
You never know what
you have
Till its gone
Treated you wrong
For so long
Now you're gone
away
But the love still
lives here
Adam sighed
as he heard her in the bathroom. Technically they were not supposed to leave
until Thursday but something told him she would leave as soon as humanly
possible. Nora was someone who did not have to say much to let people know how
she felt. He knew that she was so devastated but she would never utter it. She
would do what she always did. She would hurt the pain behind a smile and work
through it.
He hoped
that she did not turn to the wrong person when the pain gets to great. He shook
his head. Nora was the one he should not worry about. It was him. He had been
seeing Nidia for weeks. He knew when it got on the physical level he had to let
Nora go. He had treated her wrong by his own choice. She was always supportive,
always providing and this is how he treats her. He debated on telling her about
the situation but not now. He would call her in a couple days.
He noticed
that she was packing her clothes and on her cell phone. He sighed as she
accepted the change of her flight. She would be leaving in three hours. He
watched as she doubled check for her things. He knew that she was not one to
stay and plead her case. He wanted her gone and she would honor that request.
But there was only one problem. He wanted to rewind time and ask her to stay.
That he was joking but what was done was done.
Still...
I still got love
for you
Still...
After all we've
been through
Still...
I gave my heart to
you
And baby you're the
only one
Adam sat
and thought about Nora. Nidia was not chalking up to be a smart cookie. She was
always admiring her new implants in the mirror. Adam was immediately turned off
by them. If he wanted to play with play-do, then he would have bought some. He
listened as
Adam tried
not to believe that Nora still had a hold on his heart. But there was something
about when she walked in the room. She was there with him through his spinal
fusion surgery, she was there with him when he came back and was not judgmental
about anything he did. She actually encouraged him to go through with the heel
turn. He started as a heel so what would be the difference. Adam swallowed and
realized that he needed something to drink. He got up and walked towards the
drink machine.
There's other men than you
Still...
They can come close
to you
Still…
Once I said I love
you
I knew you'd be the
only one
Nora
brushed out her hair. She was listening to
Adam was
one of a kind. They were great men and came close to him but she had one problem.
Once she uttered that she loved Adam that was it. She never really told anyone that she loved
them. She only told Adam because she thought that he was the one. Nora looked
around and realized that she drank the last of her Sprite. She reached in her
pocketbook and grabbed a dollar. She stood up and walked to the drink machines.
A good man you were
to me
Always there to
care
Would do anything
in this world for me
Didn't matter,
what, when, or where
You were there
I never thought
we'd part from the arguments we'd start
When I just wanted
to get some attention
And I'm sorry baby
for bitchin
If I could take
back the words
That I said to make
you leave
I'd be down on
bended knees
Asking you to
please forgive me
Nora walked to the drink machines.
She second guessed wanting a Sprite and wondered if there was iced tea. She
rounded the corner and noticed Adam trying to make a decision. He was clueless
when there was a Coke and a Pepsi machine.
She smiled as she noticed that he had just taken a shower. She smiled
when she thought of how good he was to her. Yeah he dated Nidia but when he
slept with her he let Nora go. Nora
heard the rumors that Adam was tired of Nidia and her fake boobs. Nora
remembered the arguments they had and never parted.
Nora smiled when Adam would accuse her
of starting an argument just so Adam would give her attention. She looked when
she heard someone talking behind her. She looked back and he was gone. Nora
shrugged and went to the Pepsi machine. She inserted the dollar and looked down
at the selections. She chose the Hawaiian Punch. Nora had a weird feeling
someone was watching her. She heard Stacy calling her. Nora grabbed her drink
and walked off. Adam moved from the corner. He loved that woman ….
You never know what
you have
Till it's gone
Treated you wrong
For so long
Now you're gone
away
But the love still
lives here
Adam
realized that he realized that he now knew what it meant to never know what you
have till it is gone. He wanted to walk up to her and just ask her out to
dinner. He looked down the hall and realized that she and Stacy were long gone.
He ran back to his locker room and picked up his cell phone. It was a weak
possibility but it was worth a shot.
All of the good
times we had together (together)
Do they mean
something to you
Do you ever wish we
never split (never)
Still got love for
you...
Nora was
walking to the rental car. She paused as her cell rang. She was astonished at
the fact it was Adam. It was the one he set, She will
be loved. She stopped to lean against the wall. She answered the phone. She
listened as Adam spoke softly to her. He joked about when they went to
