Part 1

SUMMARY: Now that Joyce is dead Buffy's world has finally fallen apart.

NOTES: Dawn doesn't exist

"How is she doing", Giles had just seen the last mourner to the door before going over to Xander to help him tidy up the living room.

"I don't know Giles, I think she's in shock", Xander answered as he passed Giles the black bag.

Buffy had been sat in the same chair for over three hours saying nothing. If it hadn't been for the fact that she kept touching her hair Giles would have thought she was back in a coma.

The Slayer knew they were talking about her but didn't care she had lost her mother. The one person in the world that knew her better than anybody. She didn't know if she would be able to cope now she was gone.

Angel had tried to comfort her but it meant nothing. It was that moment that she had realized the pair of them were finally over and the worst thing was she couldn't bring herself to care right now.

"Where's Spike?", she asked standing up and walking over to the kitchen.

"On patrol", Willow replied coming back down the stairs.

She had moved in with Buffy to give her some help when they had found out about her mom's illness.

"I'm going to help him", she said as she walked out the door.

'I can't believe she's letting him help her" Xander moaned talking about the vampire.

"Xand for some reason he's the only one she can talk too about this" Willow placed a hand on his shoulder. He smiled at her and nodded.

He would never willingly admit it but he had grown to like the peroxide punk. They would never be the best of friends but even without a soul he knew Spike would do all in his power to stop the girl from hurting.

His thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door. He walked over to answer it with Giles close behind him.

Standing in front of him was a middle-aged man in a suit. Standing beside him was a younger man and a cute blonde.

"Can i help you?" he asked being polite.

"Yes can i speak to Miss Summers please?'.

"She's not here at the moment actually can we help?' Giles asked from behind him.

"I don't know perhaps we should come in" the man replied.

Buffy finally found him walking into the graveyard.

"Hey wait up Will" she yelled at him.

Spike smiled and as he turned around the smile slipped from his face.

She had left the house in nothing more than a tank top.

"Jesus Bethy you'll catch your death", he sighed taking off his coat and slipping it around her shoulders.

Looking at her properly he saw she looked exhausted.

"Come on girl lets get you fixed". He took her to the mansion where he had recently moved into.

He sat her down on the couch while he drew her a bath.

"Come on sweetheart", he whispered as he lifted her up and through to the bathroom.

He undressed her and sat her in the bath then went to make her something to eat. When he returned she hadn't moved.

"Oh slayer', he said before stripping off and getting in the bath behind her. She lay back so her back was leaning into his chest and he put his arms around her waist.

He had realized long ago there would never be anything between them and when he finally let go he discovered that he was treating her more

as a little sister, which Joyce had loved as she said there, would now be someone looking out for her baby girl.

Buffy was the only one allowed to call him Will and only he could call her Bethy.

"How are you sweetheart?', he crooned as he massaged her shoulders.

She turned around and looked at him.

"My mommy's gone", she whimpered before finally giving in and letting the tears come.

It broke his heart to see the girl like this. He did the only thing he could and held her until she had calmed down.

"How long do you think she will be?" Anya sighed as Xander handed the guests a drink.

"I need Xander to take me home so we can have intercourse".

The Scooby's said nothing of course but the guests spluttered into their drinks not knowing where to look.

"Is this her?', the older man asked picking a picture of Buffy up that had been taken just after her 18th birthday.

"She looks just like her mum"; he thought looking over as Giles nodded to his question.

 Giles coughed getting everybody's attention

"I don't know whether she should be told right now after all that's happened. She's still a little fragile”.

He was interrupted as the door opened and Spike and Buffy walked in. She looked over at Giles and smiled. He opened his arms and she walked into his embrace.

Xander, Willow and Anya followed into the huddle.

"Miss Summers", Buffy looked over she didn't even know that there was anybody else in the room.

He handed her a letter and then walked out of the front door followed by the other two.

Buffy was puzzled and walked over to a chair so she could read the letter.

"NO", she screamed flinging the letter away and running up the stairs.

Spike picked up the letter scanned it and looked over to the others. "It can't be true?', he shook his head.

"I'm sorry Spike but it all adds up with what Joyce told me before she died".

"Get them back in", he growled as Willow walked to the door.

His eyes were golden as the three entered the house again.

 "Why now?", he shouted.

"The poor girl's been through enough"

Tara walking in the front door interrupted them.

"Hey who's this?" she smiled at the strangers.

"This is Vince McMahon and his children Stephanie and Shane"

 Tara shook their hands.

"So do you know Giles then", she enquired.

"I'm actually visiting family" he laughed nervously.

"Who.... Who", she was puzzled.

"Me", came the reply from the girl at the bottom of the stairs.

Everybody turned to stare at Buffy.

"I'm his daughter" she glared at Vince.

Part 2

Summary: Buffy finds out about the father she never knew existed

It was as if time had stood still. Family surrounded Buffy and she has never felt more alone in her whole life.

When she finally moved from the spot at the bottom of the stairs Spike had sat her on the couch and she hadn’t moved since. Nobody wanted to be the first person to say anything so the room was in silence.

Spike and Giles were in the kitchen making something to eat for everyone.

“So she never told her?” Spike handed him the bread and margarine.

“She didn’t think there would be much point”, Giles replied getting the plates out of the cupboard

“Vince didn’t know about Buffy and Hank has always thought she was his”.

“I really don’t think she’s strong enough for this Rupert”, the vampire stated shaking his head.

“Not much we can do about it is there”; the Watcher grimaced as they walked back into the living room with the refreshments.

It was all eat in silence

“I think we should give Buffy and Mr McMahon some space”, Giles stood up and the others followed.

“I ain’t leaving her” Spike jumped up.

“It’s ok Will” she smiled as she walked over to him.

She put her arms around him for reassurance and walked him to the door.

“Are you sure?” Giles put his hand on her arm.

She nodded and gave him a quick hug before she shut the door.

“So I go from being an only child to having a brother and sister go figure”, she laughed it got louder when she saw the shocked looks of the other inhabitants of the room.

“Sorry”, she stopped after a while

“When I get nervous I saw stupid stuff”, she waffled as she sat down.

“So”, she got comfortable

“You want to tell me why my mother cheated on dad with you?” she looked at him.

She had the same expression in her eyes that he had seen Stephanie do countless times.

 “Well”, he shifted nervously

“They weren’t actually together when I met Joyce”; he looked at his two children

“And me and my wife were going through a bad patch and well you can guess what happened”.

She looked over at her newly acquired siblings “So what do you think then?’

Shane shrugged it off “Worse stuff could happen” he smiled at her.

She could feel Stephanie’s animosity before she even looked at her

“We may be blood related but we will never be related”, she snapped at the Slayer.

“Nice doggy”, Buffy laughed

“You got her a leash”. Stephanie took a step towards her but was stopped by Shane.

“Look I’m still a little hungry is there anywhere we can get something?’

Buffy grimaced “Well there is the Doublemeat Palace” she shivered.

“You can get food but it’s not always edible”.

“That’s fine”, he looked at Vince “Me and you can go pops”, he was already heading towards the door.

“We won’t be long”, Vince comforted his daughter with a peck on the cheek and then followed his son.

“I’m sorry about your mother”, Stephanie tried to sound sympathetic.

Buffy knew she was moments away from the tears but was doing her best to avoid it.

“Yeah well it was sudden” she looked away.

For the first time Stephanie got a decent look at the girl who was now her sister.

To the rest of the world she looked like a teenage girl who would break with the slightest touch but Stephanie knew better she reminded her of herself at that age. It would take a lot to break her unfortunatly it looks as if she was at that point or very near to it.

“Were you close?” she walked over to the seat and sat down.

“Not so much the last years with school and slaying”, the blonde replied absent-mindedly.

 “Slayer?” Steph’s head whipped up.

“Yeah”, Buffy said “It’s another word for homework”, she squirmed hoping that the other woman would believe her, which she seemed to.

“So what do you think of her?” Vince was in line waiting for his order alongside Shane.

 “Well”, he turned around

“She seems alright but there’s something about her I can’t put my finger on”.

Vince nodded in agreement with his son. “I don’t know where she gets it from, Joyce wasn’t like that”.

“She’ll be out of sorts because of her mother”. The younger McMahon stated as the clerk handed them their food.

“This place seems to be a little weird though”; Vince smiled nervously as they made their way to the car.

“I guess” Shane shrugged. “But it seems all right to me”.

“Here” Steph handed Buffy a cup of coffee and took a seat beside her.

“I’m sorry about earlier but I’m having a few relationship problems”, she explained.

Buffy took a sip and sat back.

“I know that feeling” she smiled grimly before continuing

“My ex boyfriend dumped me and moved to LA” she looked at Stephanie

“It’s been nearly two years and it still hurts to see him”.

The older woman smiled. It looked as if they had inherited the same genes as their father when it came to relationships.

“Yep been there. My husband Hunter got injured a few months ago and had to stay home and when he came back he was really distant to me and it felt like I could never do a thing right”.

“I did date someone for a while but I never really loved him I still couldn’t get Angel out of my head’, she laughed

She placed her mug on the table “I know we can’t be together but it still hurts way too much”. Stephanie sighed before leaning towards her.

“Can I tell you a secret?’ she asked her sister.

 “Sure I guess” Buffy shrugged.

“I done something really really bad”, she looked ashamed.

“He asked for a divorce so I said I was pregnant”, she looked over at Buffy expecting shock or disgust but she saw compassion.

“Giles told me once, it’s easy to say your disappointed in someone and you can accuse them but the only person how really is disappointed is yourself”, she smiled at her showing her support.

Vince and Shane had been parked outside the house for the last ten minutes afraid to go in incase of what they would find. What they found was even more shocking.

Steph and Buffy were both sat in their PJ’s doing each other’s nails.

“OK not exactly what I expected to see”, Vince admitted as he looked at his son.

“Hey dad”, Stephanie smiled as she stood up and took the bag from his hand “I’m starving”, she shouted through.

Shrugging his shoulders Shane followed her. Leaving the newly aquainted father and daughter to talk.

Buffy offered him a seat and turned around to face him

“Ok I am not promising anything but if we take it slow maybe we could get to know each other”.

He smiled at her “That would be nice dear maybe you could come on tour with me”.

She looked confused “On tour are you an actor or something?” he chucked.

“Not exactly im the chairman of the WWE”, she was still unsure so he said “I’m the boss of a wrestling company have you ever heard of Kurt Angle or Kane”.

“Do you know Stone Cold?” she smiled.

Now it was his turn to be confused.

Xander and Spike watch it”, she explained before smiling “So would I get to meet them?” he nodded at her “GET OUT”, she laughed.

“Well she’s a typical Cheerleader” Stephanie grinned.

“I don’t get it I thought you hated her”, he didn’t understand.

“I got to know her”, Steph explained.

“The only thing I’m not sure of is her language. Do you know she calls homework- slaying?”

 “Weird”, he answered.

“I’m just going to the toilet”.

He made his way up after getting directions from Buffy and locked the door. He got his cell out and punched in a number.

 A familiar voice answered

“Hey it’s Shane what can you tell me about a Slayer called Buffy Summers?’

There was mumbling at the end of the phone and then he got an answer.

“That’s fine, it doesn’t matter what time. Thanks yeah see you later Lorne”.

Part 3

Summary: Just how much does Shane know?

“Shane get your butt down the food’s ready”, the rest of the McMahon’s were waiting for the eldest child to come down so they could get started.

Steph looked over and saw her dad and Buffy talking. By the looks on their faces it was obviously about Joyce.

 Looking up Buffy grinned

“Are you just going to stand there or sit down”.

Vince started laughing, Buffy was everything Shane and Stephanie weren’t. Although his two children liked to show confidence on screen outside of work things were very different.

His train of thought was interrupted when Shane came down the stairs and walked over to Buffy

“I have a friend who stays ten minutes away he’s coming into town” he picked up a burger

“Will you come with me to get him” he looked over at his youngest sister who was in the middle of eating a burger whole.

“Sure” she said wiping the splurge of ketchup that was on her lips.

“Just give me a few minutes to get ready” she passed him and went up the stairs giving the other three a chance to talk.

“So what do you think?” Vince asked his children.

“You already know I like her dad” Stephanie stole the last pack of fries just before Shane could get them.

“Ditto” Shane said just as the object of their conversation came back into the room.

“Ready” she asked as she put on her coat.

He nodded and followed her out the door. They had walked in silence since they had left so the minute Buffy heard the noise in the bushes she was on alert.

“Slayer” came a voice from behind her.

She turned and saw at least six vampires ready to jump her.

“Great” she sighed “Can’t I have just one night” before jumping in the middle of the group and staking the vampire nearest to her.

When she had slayed them all she looked around in confusion

“Shane?” she heard a noise coming from around the corner.

She ran round only to see her brother kicking the crap out of the last vampire.

“I only told you to scare her” he growled at him before staking him.

He looked up and saw him staring at her “You bastard” she screamed before lunging at him.

He dodged her at the last minute

“Buffy wait please” he pleaded

“I can explain”

She stopped “Go on then” she snarled.

“Let’s go somewhere and talk” he offered her a hand. She reluctantly took it and followed him.

“So explain then” she hadn’t took her eyes off him since they entered the Bronze.

They were sitting in the back.

“Let me finish before you say anything ok?” he continued after she nodded.

“I knew who you were and I was just testing you. They promised not to go that far”.

He took a sip of his coffee

“That’s vampires for you” she continued staring at him.

“Do you know someone called Lorne?”

She thought for a minute “He works with my ex Angel right”

Shane nodded

“Yeah when Steph said earlier about you slipping up about slaying it got me thinking. He had said there was a slayer living in Sunnydale”.

“That’s all very well,” Buffy said

“But how do you know them” she looked around the club.

He moved the collar of his shirt to show her the scar on his neck

“Lorne stopped them from killing me by singing”

Buffy started laughing.

Angel had told her about him.

“So what happens now will you tell Vince and Stephanie” she asked him

“No you can when you want to” he took hold of her hand and squeezed it.

“Lets get home” she grinned getting up.

“So how long will you be then?” Willow was hugging Buffy.

She had decided to go back with the family for a few months to get to know them better.

“Only a month or too Wil” she let go and made her way over to the car.

“Steph get your ass in gear” Shane shouted as he and Vince put the luggage in the boot.

“I’m here” she passed Willow and got in the back seat beside Buffy.

“So you ready then?” she asked her sister.

 “Yeah”, Buffy replied

Shane got in and started the car

“As ready as I’ll ever be” she answered as she waved to Willow before the car left the drive,
