Song Lyrics~

No
Sugar
**
~No
sugar coming my way~
~It’s
your way or the highway~
~No
loving in the daylight~
~No
rubbing in the dark night~
~I
just want some affection~
~In
my direction~
~I
don’t care what the people say~
~But
no sugars coming my way~
What
would I be doing right now if I were still with her? He asked himself with a
sigh and lifted both his bare feet off the floor only to bring them down on top
of the small table in front of him.
I
wouldn’t be here feeling like I do for one thing, he was quick to inwardly
voice a reply to his question. We’d be together her and I, doing things that
made us as a couple so right.
I
have absolutely no idea where we went wrong, what I did… what you did…
Those
few months we spent together after Matt and Lita’s
wedding were the best months of my life. What happened to us? Where and when
did we stop connecting? All I know is that your spot beside me has been
replaced by someone else, someone the total opposite of you in looks and
personality.
I
feel like I’m trying major-ly hard here to tell
myself that you never existed, that we were never together and never in love.
So shacking up with the first *opposite* I came across was my solution.
The
door to his hotel room opened then and Trish Stratus walked in.
I’ve
done a lot of dumb things in my life. He continued to tell himself as he raised
his eyes to meet hers. But this has to be the dumbest.
~I
met a girl with beautiful blond hair~
~Two
words – DON”T CARE~
~Cause
all I’m thinking about is what I just lost~
~Small
price at a big cost~
~What’s
it gonna be for a guy like me~
~When
everything is over~
~And
why do I get out of bed at all~
~When
I, I get back in later~
“I
can’t believe you are still sitting on that damn couch!”
Here
we go, he thought rolling his eyes. For all her prettiness she sure was a nag.
And he didn’t just mean now and then either, with Trish being a nag was a
second full time occupation. He looked up then to see her mouth moving a mile a
minute yet none of her words were registering in his brain. No, I retract my
last statement, he told himself bringing his gaze back to his feet where they
still rested on top of the coffee table. Being a nag *is* her full time
occupation.
His
eyes fluttered closed and immediately images of *her* surfaced in his head.
Ah…
he breathed contentedly… much better.
~No
sugar coming my way~
~It’s
your way or the highway~
~No
loving in the day light~
~No
rubbing in the dark night~
~I
just want some affection~
~In
my direction~
~I
don’t care what the people say~
~There’s
no sugar coming my way~
I
have to keep reminding myself that this was your idea and that by keeping my
distance I’m respecting your wishes and all that, but in truth all I’m doing is
dying a slow death here without you.
Yeah
I know there’s still the Trish factor and at first I admit it was fun and she
did help me to forget, at least for a little while until I returned to my
senses and realised I was just using her as a
substitute for what I had lost with you.
People
can say what they want about Trish and I, I couldn’t give two shits. They don’t
know the truth. They don’t know that deep down it’s some else I’m thinking of.
~You
said that you needed some space~
~Our
love – Erased~
~I
never thought I’d be feeling so bad~
~Past
tense – I had~
~What’s
it gonna be for a guy like me~
~With
this around the corner~
~Just
keep this clear in your mind baby~
~Your
some bodies daughter~
Space,
time, distance, elbow room… were just some of the choice words you used to describe
what you needed of me. No mention of a *Why* was used in your little speech
though. This was just something you had to do.
So
I let you.
~No
sugar coming my way~
~It’s
your way or the highway~
~No
loving in the day light~
~No
rubbing in the dark night~
~I
just want some affection~
~In
my direction~
~I
don’t care what the people say~
~But
no sugars coming my way~
“Are
you even listening to me?” Trish’s voice rang through his mind like a freight
train, only with a freight train at least the sound faded off into the
distance. He didn’t have that luxury with Trish.
Moving
his feet off the table he leaned forward in his seat and allowed his head to
fall forward into his hands.
“Yep,”
He whispered, “No sugar coming my way – None at all.”

Dreamer
**
~She’s
alright~
~But
I think about her more all night~
~I
guess I’m a dreamer I really wanna see her now~
~I
buy her things~
~If
pretty Polly wants diamond rings~
~I
guess I’m a dreamer I really wanna see her now~
He
didn’t know how long he’d been laying there with his eyes glued to the ceiling.
Something he had to admit was becoming an all nightly ritual – Even with Trish
lying next to him.
He
turned to look over at her then and her blond hair became black, her thick pouty lips becoming thin and supple.
Memories
started to flood his mind. Memories he didn’t think significant when they were
together, yet now it was those memories he held on to. Memories of them grocery
shopping together – Something Trish thought beneath her. Of
His
dream dissipated and the dark head he’d been envisioning turned back to blond.
He
sighed, his eyes again going back to the ceiling.
~Some
times I call her name~
~But
does she even feel my pain~
~I
don’t know if she even knows that I’m there~
He
should have said something to her when he saw her today walking through the
hotel lobby with Stacy. He shouldn’t have been too afraid of her rejection and
Stacy’s laughter at his plight although he knew Stacy would never laugh at
someone else’s discomfort. That was more Trish’s style, but he couldn’t stop
himself from pinning that ugly trait on Stacy just because she got to be where
he wanted to be – Next to Victoria.
He
called out to her in his mind though again and again and again.
~Well
I take my time~
~But
I only hear the same old line~
~I
guess I’m a dreamer I really wanna see her now~
~Alright~
~I
guess I’m a dreamer I really wanna see her now~
~I
guess I’m a dreamer~
He
could linger here forever within his memories. It was a place he felt at home
in, a place much more preferable to the reality he lived.
~Some
times I call her name~
~But
does she even feel my pain~
~I
don’t know if she even knows that I’m there~
~Well
I take my time~
~But
I only hear the same old line~
~I
guess I’m a dreamer I really wanna see her now~
~I
want us to be together~
~That
is true~
~I
want us to be together~
The
slight snoring next to him brought him out of his thoughts and he turned to
stare at Trish again and he can’t help but wonder how he could let things get
so fucked up.
“Victoria…”
His whispered call floated up into the darkness and beyond.
~Some
times I call her name~
~But
does she even feel my pain~
~I
don’t know if she even knows that I’m there~
~Well
I take my time~
~But
I only hear the same old line~
~I
guess I’m a dreamer I really wanna see her now~
Giving
up on ever finding sleep tonight he pushed the covers back and got up from the
bed and walked to the window.
He
looked out at the night sky before his gaze lowered to the sparkling waters of
the pool below and it was then that he noticed someone standing at the edge of
the pool, someone with long dark hair. He watched as she lifted her head to
stare up at the stars just as he had been doing a moment ago and his heart
skipped a beat when the moonlight revealed her face to him.
“Victoria…”
~I
guess I’m a dreamer~
~I
guess I’m a dreamer~
It
would be so easy just to go down there he told himself. He could say what he
wanted to say to her without anyone else around. He could do this.
When
it actually registered in his mind that his legs were already crossing the room
to the door he had no idea.
~I
guess I’m a dreamer~
He
pulled the door open casting a look back to the bed where Trish still lay
sleeping…
~I
guess I’m a dreamer I really wanna see her~
…but
the door still closed behind him.
~Now~

My
Completeness
**
~She
came to me~
~With
her arms~
~Open
wide~
~Learnt
my style~
~There
she stood~
~Like
a child~
His
feet barely felt the chill of the cool tiles that surrounded the pool as he
silently padded up to her and softly spoke her name.
She
turned her hands going up to wipe away the tell tale tears that trailed down
her cheeks. Tentatively he reached up to cup her face between his hands tilting
her head up so that she’d have no choice but to look at him and in her eyes he
saw everything he’d been feeling since they parted mirrored there in her eyes.
No
words were needed as they came together.
~With
her hair~
~Flowing
down in blue cascades~
~Love,
lapping at her feet~
~Life,
dancing in a masquerade~
~My
completeness~
He
breathed in deeply, the scent of her hair filling his nostrils, taking him to
another place - A happier place.
Home.
“Why
didn’t you say something?” He whispered. He felt her head shake from side to
side where it rested on his shoulder.
“I
couldn’t,” She whispered back. “I saw how happy you were when you and Trish
started dating. You were moving on with your life… I just couldn’t…”
“Shh…” He cooed his hand coming up to stroke the long
tresses that flowed down her back. “Let’s not think about Trish now. Let’s just
not think…”
~I
could say no words~
~None
would breathe~
~With
my heart~
~On
my sleeve~
~All
was clear~
~There
she was~
He
couldn’t believe he was here with her now, holding her, wanting her. He’d
dreamed of having her back in his arms for the longest time and now that he had
everything just seemed that much clearer.
He
felt rejuvenated.
Happy.
Alive.
~With
her hair~
~Flowing
down in blue cascades~
~Love,
lapping at her feet~
~Life,
dancing in a masquerade~
~My
completeness~
Happiness
welled up inside him as he held her closer still and that happiness damn near
boiled over with the feel of her clinging just as tightly back.
He
didn’t want to let her go, didn’t think he could even if he wanted too.
And
he knew. He just knew that it was the same for her.
~Alright~
~She’s
everything to me~
She’s
beautiful.
She’s
mine.
~She
came to me~
~With
her arms~
~Open
wide~
~Learnt
my style~
~There
she stood~
~Like
a child~
He
turned his head slightly so he could rub his roughened cheek against hers and
felt the moisture of her tears on his cheek.
~With
her…~
~Hair,
flowing down in blue cascades~
~Love,
lapping at her feet~
~Love,
dancing in a masquerade~
~Hair
flowing down in blue cascades~
~Love,
lapping at her feet~
~Life,
dancing in a masquerade~
~My
completeness~
Jeff
pulled back then, only far enough for his thumbs to trail over her cheeks
catching her tears.
There
eyes met.
“I
love you Victoria…” He leaned down till his lips were a mere breath away from
hers. “I’ve never stopped…”
~She’s
everything to me~
