Characters: Tori (Terri Poch) Shane McMahon, Marissa McMahon

Summary:  Tori tries to rid herself of Shane

Terri was beside herself. It had been seven years since Shane graced her presence. He was the one who let her know her contract would not be renewed. He slept with her one last time after he fronted money for her to open her Yoga business. He said he loved her and would keep in touch. The called each other twice a week. Shane never understood her loneliness. He had Marissa at home not to mention whomever he charmed to be his piece on the road.

So it was obvious why her dis-temperment was so high. As time went on the phone calls decreased. In a matter of five months, Terri was just a faded memory for him. Terri had a constant reminder of Shane. They shared a child. A little girl that was happy just being a Poch. Shalon Emlynn Poch was Terri most prized possession. Terri smiled at the thought of Salem. No doubt that she was a McMahon. She had the McMahon features. In fact, Shalon was a mini-Stephanie.

Terri tried to deny that she had missed Shane. She dated but nothing ever became serious. There were various excuses. The one most often used was Shalon of course. For a couple of years, Terri held onto the notion Shane would come back to her. But Shane insisted that staying with Marisa would be for the best. But every time she glanced at Shalon, she knew he was still in her heart.

Terri tried to be happy for Shane and Marissa when they had a boy. It hurt her though when she thought about what Shane would give his son. Things and time that he never gave to Shalon. She had finally gotten off the dead end road of him being a part of Shalon’s life. But it didn’t happen. Now that she’s in school and is beginning to develop into someone. Shane wants to step in. She caught Shane’s glimpses. She wrung her hands and turned from him. She felt him behind her. He wanted to develop a relationship with Shalon. Terri knew her answer was required. If she refused, McMahon money would take Shalon quicker than a moth would go to a flame. Terri reluctantly agreed.

Terri realized Shane had not admitted their indiscretion. Otherwise, Shalon would be a McMahon. Terri noticed something in Shane’s eyes. She tried to shake the notion. But as he lingered even after Shalon went to bed, she knew what Shane wanted. She wanted to say no. She wanted to demand that he leave and let her go. But as he kissed her, she quickly realized that he was still in her soul.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I thought it was over, baby

We said our goodbyes

But I can't go a day without your face

Goin' through my mind

In fact, not a single minute

Passes without you in it

Your voice, your touch

memories of your love

Are with me all of the time

Let me let go, baby

Let me let go

If this is for the best,

why are you still in my heart

Are you still in my soul, let me let go

I talked to you the other day

Looks like you made your escape

You put us behind, no matter how I try

I can't do the same

Let me let go, baby

Let me let go

It just isn't right,

I've been two thousand miles

Down a dead-end road

Let me let go, darlin', won't you

I just gotta know, yeah

If this is for the best

why are you still in my heart

Are you still in my soul, let me let go

The lights of this strange city are shinin'

But they don't hold no fascination for me

I try to find the bright side, baby

But everywhere I look

everywhere I turn, you're all I see

Let me let go, baby, won't you

Let me let go

It just isn't right,

I've been two thousands miles

Down a dead-end road

Oh, let me go, darlin', won't you

I just gotta know

If this is for the best,

why are you still in my heart

Yeah, you're still in my soul, let me let go

Let me let go, let me let go

Disclaimer: I own anyone Shalon. I am borrowing the song from Faith Evans and the characters I took while Vince was not looking well except for Terri Poch… The lyrics are at the end

Characters: Terri Poch, Shalon Poch, Shane McMahon, Marissa McMahon

Summary: Terri tries to understand what she has with Shane

She went to check on Shalon just to pass time. She was waiting for Shane to call. She tried not to hold on too much hope that he would keep in touch. Terri learned to count the days. She was worried that Shane would stop calling and coming. She did not want Shalon to go through the anguish she did. Shane had this alluring charm about him. Shalon was a seven year girl who desired to have her father around.

Terri was remorseful about being Shane’s lover again. But it was satisfying but not exactly dependable. She was certain this time was a little different. She hoped her coziness with Shane would not backfire. She had three weeks until she saw him again. She lived and longed for that day, Terri’s watch dinged and she headed to the bathroom. May be she would have good news to share with him.

Terri stopped before she got to the bathroom. But did she really want to go through being a single mother again? She wasn’t naïve he would never leave Marissa. Divorce was a word unknown to the McMahons. Terri walked to the sink and sighed. She was tired of looking like the heartless bitch. She wanted her family to be completed. Yet no one wanted to fill the void. No one would take the blame for the situation. Terri threw the pregnancy test away. She brushed her hair out and walked to look in on Shalon. She smiled and head to her room. She slipped into an oversized Dx shirt. She climbed into her bed. She reached to turn out the light. She startled herself by thinking someone was at the corner of her bed. It was as it always had been just the reflections of Shane’s silhouette. She forcibly closed her eyes. He would exist in her dreams too.

Terri recognizes this dream. It is the one she has the most. Shane, Shalon, a newborn baby and Terri are at the beach having a great day. Marissa shows up and starts yelling at Shane. She pauses as she glances at Shalon then at Shane. Her dream has become her worst nightmare. That’s not how Marissa should find out. Terri awakens in a cold sweat. So many nights she has lost sleep. So many nights she has wished to awaken and Shane to hold her and wipe her tears away. Terri sighed as she moved to get a washcloth. There was one thing she knew as true. Love can’t hide the pain inside.

Tears on my pillow keep falling

And I'm crying over you, crying over you

How long will the time last before my heart

Is blessed to see the day I'm back with you, the day I'm back with you

See I'm yearning for you baby, constantly I'm reminscing

Always think bout the things we used to do

And I'm singing baby

Chorus: x2

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

Love can't hide

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

The pain inside

Am I wrong for love that's been lost and found

Looking for someone to make the claim, oh tell me

Why am I an example of heart turned cold

Looking for someone to take the blame, won't nobody take it for me baby

Reflections of your silhouette at the corners of my bed

I try to close my eyes and go to sleep, still I see you in my dream

Chorus x2

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

Love can't hide

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

The pain inside

(ad libs)

Bridge:

Are my dreams of love a mirage of paradise

As the weeks turn to months

And so many sleepless nights

For the day I pray my tears will wipe away

You'll hold me in your loving arms always

Chorus x2

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

Love can't hide

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

Bop ba da ba da

Are my dreams of love a mirage of paradise

As the weeks turn to months

And so many sleepless nights

Summary: Marissa has become suspicious of Shane’s actions

Marissa sat and played with Declan. She tried to put her feelings aside for the longest time. She always felt that Shane had someone on the side but she could never prove it. However, last night, something wasn’t right. She tried to chalk it up to the traveling but he was so distracted. He called and told her he would be home sooner than he thought. She wanted to make it work for her son’s sake.

Marissa wasn’t crazy. But may be she had made herself that way. Even when they where dating she heard about him dating one of the female wrestlers. Stephanie would not give her a direct answer, neither would anyone else. Linda told her it was from having Declan and feelings that she was not able to satisfy Shane. At first that is what she wanted to believe.

Shane would start to stutter names. Marissa found receipts for toys and clothes that were for a girl. He would take trips that no one could tell her the purpose of them. He was always tired. He would leave early and return late. Marissa sighed as she remembered how Shane touched her. It was not the way he used to touch her. Marissa paused as Shane entered the room and took Declan in his arms. Marissa sighed and knew it was now or never.

“Shane, we need to talk but I want you to hear me out before you say anything. I’ve noticed a change in you. You’re secretive, you’re tired, and you’re excluding me. I want to know what you’re hiding. This is not a new feeling for me. There was always someone else. I want to know who she is. If I’m wrong, tell me. You take mysterious trips. You buy things for a seven year old girl. You act strangely and I can no longer dismiss your actions. Who is the other woman and stop lying…?” Marissa said as she began to cry.

Shane held Declan and knew what he had to do. He had to be more conspicuous about how he took care of Shalon and Terri. He loves Marissa and Declan. He took a deep breath. He explained to Marissa a half truth about Terri. Since Sean Waltman was in rehab Shane help get Terri’s daughter some things. Shane assured Marissa that’s all it was. Shane flashed that McMahon assurance smile and knew thing were going to be okay.

Wait a minute

There's something on my mind

I can't hold in any longer

Turn around

Don't just turn the radio down

I don't wanna hear "oh, uh, oh, uh, oh, uh"

No, no, no (uh uh uh uh uh uh)

Wait a minute

There's something I wanna say

Tell me who joined us in the bed last night

Don't look at me crazy, it did not feel right

A little to drink, but had a lot to say

Tell me who it was, tell me who it was

Whoever she was, she was on your mind

You stuttered a name that didn't sound like mine

Your silence right now will jeopardize you and I

Tell me who it was, oh tell me who it was

Tell me who joined us in the bed last night

Don't look at me crazy, it did not feel right

A little to drink, but had a lot to say

Tell me who it was, tell me who it was

You left home early

And you came home late (again)

I know there's something goin' on

Tell me what it is

What does she have that I don't?

Don't try to even lie

I just wanna know the truth

Last night while you were in my bed

You brought Cathy, Tracy, Trina home with you

Tell me

Tell me who joined us in the bed last night

Don't look at me crazy, it did not feel right

A little to drink, but had a lot to say

Tell me who it was, tell me who it was

(I'll tell ya how I knew) I could feel it in your touch

Ain't lovin' good enough, no (Baby who's foolin' who?)

You come home tired all the time

And you don't let me get mine, no

(Now before I say we're through)

She played you for a fool

She can't love you like I do

You can say what you want to

But last night you brought someone home with you

Tell me

Tell me who joined us in the bed last night

Don't look at me crazy, it did not feel right

A little to drink, but had a lot to say

Tell me who it was, tell me who it was

Song: If you don’t want to love me by Tamar

Ratings:  PG-13

Characters: Terri Poch, Shane McMahon

Disclaimers: I own only the story. Character names are more in likely trademarked to WWE. Personal names belong to the people. Song is by Tamar and lyrics are at the end.

Distributions: just ask…

Spoilers: none

Summary: Terri finally has the nerve…

Terri was not surprised at the Wrestlemania tickets that arrived for her family. Vince was reaching out to her for some reason. Terri guessed that he was trying to make it seem like the WWE was still a tight knit family. She smiled at Shalon. She was a brilliant eight year old. She was making it. Shane was no longer a part of her life.  She turned to check on Krishna. Krishna Zion Poch was the reason Terri had pushed to live without any contributions or connections to Shane. Shalon didn’t understand why her daddy didn’t call or come see her anymore. Terri tried to explain that he had another family that required him to be away from them.

Krishna was looking more like Shane everyday. He was eight months old and Terri knew that she had to at least tell Shane. She wanted to phone, to write him a letter or even send an email. But somehow face to face just seemed like the better way to handle the situation. She did not want him to be a knight in shining armor. Terri just didn’t want him to hold it against her. Krishna was going to be good man with or without Shane’s assistance.

Terri moved to start packing clothes for the weekend. Shalon needed to be rewarded for doing very well in school. A thought to call Shane crossed her mind but she quickly dismissed the idea. Why did she always have to make the steps to reunite with Shane? Terri sighed and walked to check on Shalon. She was looking at WWE unscripted. She had paused on the picture of Shane, Vince and Declan. Terri sat on the bed behind Shalon. Shalon had only heard about his other family. She was looking at her grandfather and brother. Shalon closed the book. She looked up at her mother. Shalon missed her dad but he had a legal family. She was just a Poch. Based on her research, that was good enough for her.

            **** At Wrestlemania Fan Axcess****

Terri was exhausted. Krishna was cranky but Shalon loved it. She had met everyone. She had three rolls of film to prove it. Terri was nervous. She had not seen too many former wrestlers. She had a sinner date with Glen and his family. Terri Runnels told her about the crazy happenings in and out of the WWE. She was still laughing over the Joanie and Sean scenario.

Then she noticed him and he noticed her. Shalon was in line to meet the last person, Victoria. Krishna was biting his teething cookie. Luckily someone approached him. Terri got up to go wait with Shalon. She felt a familiar hand and turned to face Shane. Shane stood almost mirror image to her. He was holding Declan. Not out of instinct, but for protection, she stepped back when he tried to touch Krishna. Shane looked around for Shalon and noticed as she walked over. Shane knelt down, expecting a hug but Shalon only waved. She met eyes with Declan and instantly turned away.

Terri glanced at her watch, while contemplating an excuse to leave. Shalon was already packing up their stuff. Shane tried to ignore the awkwardness. Terri needed to go and get ready. She was meeting Glen for dinner. Shane offered to buy them breakfast. Terri stated that she would call him. Shalon normally did not help with Kris but she did not want to be around Shane, the man formally known as her daddy.

Terri toweled off Kris as she heard Shalon in the tub. The knock at the door startled her because no one knew she was there. She looked though the peephole and sighed. She opened the door and invited Shane inside. Shane sat down and smiled as he heard Shalon in the tub. Terri placed Kris on the bed and began to dress him. She had rehearsed it many times in her head and she would not chicken out now.

“Shane just to clear the air, yes he is your son. But that does not entitle you to anything. So I’m not sure why you are here because it is not out of love because the last time I checked you are still with Marissa. I let you have such a big chunk of my life and for what? You gave me two beautiful children but that’s it. You’ve broken my heart and degraded me to less than a two bit tramp. So that’s why you haven’t heard from me. That’s why you only hear my voice on the voice mail.

“I slowly realize that you can’t love me, not the way that is required. You can’t be a here today gone tomorrow father. And you can not be in my bed and then in your bed with Marissa. I don’t need your type of drama in my life. My children deserve so much better. I’m not asking you for your love or your touch. I don’t care if you’ve missed me or even want to kiss me. But I don’t want you to do any of that.” Terri concluded as she walked to check on Shalon.

Shane sat in the chair. His boyish charm was wearing away. The stress lines and bags were becoming harder to miss. Terri was right. There was no way he could live a double life. He had to give up one or the other. He eased out of the chair. He watched his son as he kicked in the air. He didn’t even know his name. He needed a picture for remembrance. He pulled out his cell phone and took a quick picture. The little boy lay impervious by the flash. Shane left his other family lamentably.

Terri helped Shalon brush out her hair. Shane was not one to leave with out speaking his mind. She knew it was simple to exclude himself from Shalon’s life. She was simply a girl. Kris was another heir to the McMahon dynasty. He could finally one up Vince. Terri shook the thought because Shane would have to go one down at the same time. He had children out of wedlock. It was hard for Terri to let him go but you can’t go on being the other woman.

Stopped by to see you, just the other day

and I wanna say, that I finally realize

that without love don’t mean a thing

its so hard for me to see that you meant everything to me

but I guess I gotta move on

even though it hurts I gotta be strong

if you don’t wanna love me, don’t love me, don’t wanna touch me, don’t touch me

cuz I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t wanna do

if you don’t wanna miss me, don’t miss me, don’t wanna kiss me, don’t kiss me

cause I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t wanna do

Who would have known, all the nights that you were hanging late

all alone I lay awake in my bed

though I never put food on your plate

how it feels to believe

that you never ever loved me

I got to move on, our love is gone

and this house is not a home

if you don’t wanna love me, don’t love me, don’t wanna touch me, don’t touch me

cuz I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t wanna do

if you don’t wanna miss me, don’t miss me, don’t wanna kiss me, don’t kiss me

cause I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t wanna do

You can be lonely, I don’t even care

But do you have to think that you'd always be there

say you'd be right there, so if you...

if you don’t wanna love me, don’t love me, don’t wanna touch me, don’t touch me

cuz I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t wanna do

if you don’t wanna miss me, don’t miss me, don’t wanna kiss me, don’t kiss me

cause I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t wanna do

if you don’t wanna love me, don’t love me, don’t wanna touch me, don’t touch me

cuz I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t wanna do

if you don’t wanna miss me, don’t miss me, don’t wanna kiss me, don’t kiss me

cause I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t wanna do

if you don’t wanna love me, don’t love me, don’t wanna touch me, don’t touch me

cuz I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t wanna do

if you don’t wanna miss me, don’t miss me, don’t wanna kiss me, don’t kiss me

cause I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t wanna do

Does he love you?

Part#: 5 of 8

Author: Genta ~ gentah@yahoo.com

Summary: Marissa figures things out for herself

Rating: PG-13

Distribution: just ask…

Characters: Shane and Marissa McMahon; Terri Poch

Disclaimer: I own no one. This is a complete work of fiction. Vince McMahon owns professional and characters own the personal. Terri Poch belongs to herself. Song is by Reba Mcentire and Linda Davis

Author’s note: I apologize that it has taken me so long to get this out. This part did not want to cooperate. I wasn’t sure where to head but I think I got it straight…

Marissa sat exhausted. She looked for her cell phone everywhere but only found Shane’s. She needed to call Linda just to check on Declan. He had a little bit of a fever. She only got the voice mail. She was about to turn the phone off when she hit the photo album button. She noticed the pictures of Declan. She smiled but it quickly faded as she saw ones of a girl and another baby boy. She had seen these kids before but where? Who are they and why are they in his phone?

Marissa immediately stood up as she noticed the picture of Terri Poch. She was the woman he had been linked to before her. She suddenly became angry. She entered his phone book. She was astonished to see every way to contact her. Marissa placed the phone down. That’s why she was at Wrestlemania. Marissa wondered if Vince knew but then again Vince knew it all. Damn Shane for betraying her twice. She walked over to the window and sighed. His cell phone rang and she walked over to see who it was. It was Terri. Marissa immediately realized this woman had no shame.

Marissa retreated upstairs. She was very upset and no one was there to console her. She walked back downstairs about two hours later. She had taken something to relax. She had forgotten about before until the door bell rang. She walked and opened the door. She was surprised to see Terri looking at her. She could tell Terri was not expecting to see her. Marissa politely explained that Shane was not home. Marissa was incredulous when Terri said that was fine. She wanted to talk to her anyways. Marissa invited her and her son inside.

Terri explained that Shane was spending time with Shalon. Terri insisted that she was not there to throw anything in her face nor was she meaning to be disrespectful. Marissa secluded to her own world. He did have secret seeds. What his friends told her and what she suspected was true. Marissa returned to the reality to hear that Shalon was a product of their love. Terri stated she was not going to break up the home that Marissa and Shane had created. Shane was not meant to love Terri. Marissa just nodded and watched as Terri picked up her son and moved to leave. Marissa had a question weighing on her mind. “Do you think he loved you?”

Terri laughed, “I am not sure how to answer that, because I rarely see him. He gave his name to you. I’ve never understood why he kept coming back. He says there’s a comfort in my arms. He believed in me to be a financial backer for my yoga studio. Yes, I think he loves me just not the way he’s constrained to love you.” Terri concluded as she moved to leave. “Oh, I am not ashamed because unlike you, I can only gain and not lose.”

Marissa sat there and thought. He’s special trips had him smiling when he left. She couldn’t help but wonder if he had been seeing her the whole time that ewer married. She moved to call Linda. She needed time to think of her next move. Shane would act like nothing was wrong and dismiss her as being paranoid. She had found out that Sean and Terri did not have a child together. Terri and sean had never been romantically linked except in story lines.

Marissa shook her head as Shane entered with Declan. She looked confused as she sat up from the couch. She moved the blanket and walked to Declan’s room. She realized it had all been a dream. When Shane looked at her, she realized that he had been deceiving her and not her deceiving herself. Like clock work Terri’s voice returned to her head, “does he love you?”

I've known about you

For a while now

When he leaves me

He wears a smile now

As soon as he's away from me

In your arms is where he wants to be

But you're the one he rushes home to

You're the one he gave his name to

I never see his face

In the early morning light

You have his mornings, his daytime, and sometimes i have his nights

 But does he love you

 Does he love you

 Like he loves me

 Like he loves me

 Does he think of you

 Does he think of you

 When he's holding me

 And does he whisper

 Does he whisper

All his fantasies

Does he love you

Does he love you

Like he's been loving me

 But when he's with me

He says he needs me

And that he wants me

That he believes in me

And when I’m in his arms

Oh he swears there's no one else

Is he deceiving me

Or am I deceiving myself

 Am I deceiving myself

But does he love you

 Does he love you

 Like he loves me

 Like he loves me

 Does he think of you

 Does he think of you

 When he's holding me

 And does he whisper

 Does he whisper

All his fantasies

Does he love you

Does he love you

Like he's been loving me

I should not lose my temper

I should not be ashamed

Cause I have everything to lose

And I, I have nothing to gain

But does he love you

 Does he love you

 Like he loves me

 Like he loves me

 Does he think of you

 Does he think of you

 When he's holding me

 And does he whisper

 Does he whisper

All his fantasies

Does he love you

Does he love you

Like he's been loving me

Oh, does he love you

Where is your heart?

Part#: 6 of 8

Author: Genta ~ gentah@yahoo.com

Rating: PG-13

Distribution: just ask and the groups I post to

Characters: Shane and Marissa McMahon

Disclaimer: I own no one. This is a complete work of fiction. Vince McMahon owns professional and characters own the personal. Song is by Kelly Clarkson…

Summary: Marissa asks Shane one simple question

Marissa thought how she could approach this situation. Shane would sweet talk her and smooth things over like nothing were wrong. He used to make it feel like the earth moved underneath her. He had stopped trying to make her happy. She used to know that he was true to her and was always there to show that he cared for her. She needed some assurance that she had his heart.

Shane felt Marissa’s stares. He was being watched. Lately, Marissa had become greedy. She wanted all of his time, attention and whatever else she could think to ask for. He was starting to feel trapped. He had been thinking about Terri, Shalon and Krishna. He honestly wanted to subtract Marissa and add Terri. He tried to give Marissa everything she needed but as he met them, they double din size. He knew that Marissa had insecurities. Stephanie filled him in on the interrogation that she got. Steph explained that Marissa was curious as to why Terri was at Wrestlemania. Stephanie pointed out that everyone pointed out the strong resemblance of Terri’s children to the McMahons. Shane’s heart was bleeding but he wasn’t sure where it was.

Marissa began expressing her thoughts. She told him that his love is so cold. He never reaches out to her. She has to throw an anchor or shine a light to find his hand. She looked down to hide the tears that were forming. She pleaded that love is suppose to be effortless. Like petals falling from a flower, they were supposed to be following a dream of love. Marissa paused as she heard him sigh. So many things were left unsaid. Shane never replied, never disagreed, or offered an opinion. He’s always there for her but she wanted to know that he was hers.

I don't believe

In the smile that you leave

When you walk away

And say goodbye

Well I don't expect

The world to move underneath me

But for God's sake

Could you try?

I know that you're true to me

You're always there

You say you care

I know that you want to be mine

Where is your heart?

'Cause I don't really feel you

Where is your heart?

What I really want is to believe you

Is it so hard

To give me what I need?

I want your heart to bleed

That's all I'm asking for

Oh, where is your heart?

I don't understand

Your love is so cold

It's always me that's reaching out

For your hand

And I've always dreamed

That love would be effortless

Like a petal fallin' to the ground

A dreamer followin' his dream

Where is your heart?

'Cause I don't really feel you

Where is your heart?

What I really want is to believe you

Is it so hard

To give me what I need?

I want your heart to bleed

And that's all I'm asking for

Oh, where is your heart?

It seems so much is left unsaid

So much is left unsaid

But you can say anything

Oh, anytime you need

Baby, it's just you and me

Oh yeah

I know that you're true to me

You're always there

You say you care

I know that you want to be mine

Where is your heart?

'Cause I don't really feel you

Where is your heart?

What I really want is to believe you

Is it so hard

To give me what I need?

I want your heart to bleed

That's all I'm asking for

Oh yeah

Where is your heart?

'Cause I don't really feel you

Where is your heart?

What I really want is to believe you

Is it so hard

To give me what I need?

I want your heart to bleed

And that's all I'm asking for

Where is your heart?

Where is your heart?

Where is your heart?

Where is your heart?

Could’ve been

Part#: 7 of 8

Author: Genta ~ gentah@yahoo.com

Rating: PG-13

Distribution: just ask…

Characters: Marissa McMahon

Disclaimer: I own no one. This is a complete work of fiction. Vince McMahon owns professional and characters own the personal. The song was written by Lois Blaisch and sung by Tiffany.

Summary: Shane gave Marissa his answer and now she must deal with his choice

Marissa looked at her stuff and frowned. She walked to Declan’s room one more time. She did not want to leave him but she had no choice. Shane made his decision and it excluded her all together. What made it worse was that Shane took Declan with him. Marissa would miss his first birthday. She wanted to be the one who took him to his first day of kindergarten. She wanted it all to be a dream. Dreams are what made things like they are. She dreamed she would end up happy. She would leave that small town she grew up on. She was leaving the one man she truly loved and her first born son.

She walked over to pick up the pictures that Shane was allowing her to take. Marissa noticed the roses he had brought her were about to die. She thought about what should have been and the tears slowly began to fall. Marissa thought back to all the sweet would that Shane had ever said to her and realized that they were sweet nothings. He was using her to pass time. He was always on her mind. She took the wedding picture down and studied it. That day was perfect. It was their day. Shane swore they would dance to their song forever. Marissa wiped her eyes. Forever ended today.

Marissa packed her books and other personal items. She thought her life was beautiful. She thought her marriage was so right. Shane vowed to be her lover every day for the rest of her life. She sealed the last box and reached for a tissue. She wiped her face. Her memories would be all she had to keep her warm. She wasn’t surprised when he stated that he was going to place the house for sale. Memories, real or not, were everywhere. The memories of parties, celebrations, anniversaries, and their love still lingered in the air. She tried to deny it but his scent would stay with her everywhere.

Marissa had hopes that she and Shane would be trying for another child. She had hoped for so many things but her hopes had dropped, which for Marissa was nothing new. By her account they should have had four kids. She had two miscarriages and two that turned out to be tumors. She tried to console herself as the movers came in. They did not even acknowledge her. Shane probably set it up this way. She did not realize it bet they had different box. He took some of the furniture and laughed when he wrote out her settlement check. McMahons can make the world move according to their needs and likes. Marissa placed her wedding rings on the table. She would not exchange her time with Shane for anything. She guess it was true what could have been is better than what could be at all. She pulled on her coat and walked to her car. She drove to the hotel and held onto her could’ve been.

The flowers you gave me

Are just about to die

When i think about

What could've been

It makes me want to cry

The sweet words you whispered

Didn't mean a thing

I guess our song is over

As we begin to sing

 Could've been so beautiful

Could've been so right

Could've been my lover

Every day of my life

Could've been so beautiful

Could've been so right

I'll never hold what could've been

On a cold and lonely night

The members of our lovin'

Still linger in the air

Like the faded scent of your roses

They stay with me everywhere

Every time i get my hopes up

They always seem to fall

Still what could've been is better than

What could never be at all

Could've been so beautiful

Could've been so right

Could've been my lover

Every day of my life

Could've been so beautiful

Could've been so right

I'll never hold what could've been

On a cold and lonely night

How could i hold what could've been

On a cold and lonely night?

Characters/Pairing: Shane McMahon, Terri Poch

Author Notes: I’m not sure if this is it. But this is then end for now. I hope this helps explains some things

Shane sat and looked over items to go up on the website. He noticed Shalon as worked on some school work. Terri had Declan and Krishna back at the hotel. Shane had gone to Terri and explained what he wanted. He needed to earn his way into Terri’s life again. He offered her a position on the training team. Shane caught Shalon’s glances. He had mended fences that were almost burnt.

Shane smiled as Terri entered the room. Declan was walking and giggled as he made his way to his daddy.  Shane looked at Terri and blew her a kiss. Terri blew one back as she handed Shalon a bag of food. Shane noticed Declan yawn and snuggle next to him. Terri stated they ate before they came. Shane smiled as Terri slid him a Cesar salad. Terri shook a bottle for Krishna.

Vince power walked to Shane’s makeshift office. He could not believe what Stephanie had informed him. He took steps to prevent the scenario from happening. Terri was supposed to disappear. Shane and Marissa were supposed to be happily ever after. He had talked with Linda and that made him felt worse. He wanted his children in perfect relationships with perfect people. Terri was not perfect for Shane.

Vince turned the corner and heard them talking. Vince popped his head in and asked for Shane to walk with him. Shane nodded okay and placed Declan in the stroller. Shane kissed his family and left. Shane knew this talk was coming. Vince did not raise him to divorce his wife. Vince would have never allowed out of wedlock children to happen.

”Shane, you’re wasting you time trying to establish a relationship with Terri. You had a good thing with Marissa. Now you are making a whore into a housewife. You should have taken those children and let her wherever she was.” Vince said as Shane stopped.

“Thanks, Dad! I knew you would have my back on this one. Do you know it hurts when you disapprove of everything I do? I thought long and hard about what I wanted and needed. Terri is just that. I tried to make you proud but I realized that was impossible. I realized that I’m not good enough and I’m not going to pretend I’m alright. I have made my choice and you can’t change the way I am.

“You know I try not to think of the pain I feel knowing you disapprove. I used to hold onto the memories and think of you as my hero. I just wanted to make you proud. I’m not going to be the good enough for you. I don’t want to have another fight. Let’s just agree that nothing is all right.” Shane said as he turned to go in the opposite direction.

Vince sighed and looked upwards. “Shane, you and I both know nothing is going to change despite what either of us might say. There’s nothing that is going to make this right. But I believe we can work through this. I don’t want to loose you. I know you feel like I don’t listen or understand. Don’t stop trying because I am not perfect…

Hey Dad look at me

Think back and talk to me

Did I grow up according

To plan?

Do you think I’m wasting

My time doing things I

Wanna do?

But it hurts when you

Disapprove all along

And now I try hard to make it

I just want to make you proud

I’m never gonna be good

Enough for you

I can’t pretend that

I’m alright

And you can’t change me

‘Cuz we lost it all

Nothing lasts forever

I’m sorry

I can’t be Perfect

Now it’s just too late

And we can’t go back

I’m sorry

I can’t be Perfect

I try not to think

About the pain I feel inside

Did you know you used to be

My hero?

All the days

You spent with me

Now seem so far away

And it feels like you don’t

Care anymore

And now I try hard to make it

I just want to make you proud

I’m never gonna be good

Enough for you

I can’t stand another fight

And nothing’ alright

‘Cuz we lost it all

Nothing lasts forever

I’m sorry

I can’t be Perfect

Now it’s just too late

And we can’t go back

I’m sorry

I can’t be Perfect

Nothing’s gonna change

The things that you said

Nothing’s gonna make this

Right again

Please don’t turn your back

I can’t believe it’s hard

Just to talk to you

But you don’t understand

‘Cuz we lost it all

Nothing lasts forever

I’m sorry

I can’t be Perfect

Now it’s just too late

And we can’t go back

I’m sorry

I can’t be Perfect

‘Cuz we lost it all

Nothing lasts forever

I’m sorry

I can’t be Perfect

Now it’s just too late

And we can’t go back

I’m sorry

I can’t be Perfect
