Everywhere
**
~Turn it
inside out so I can see~
~The part of
you that’s drifting over me~
~And when I
wake you’re never there~
~And when I
sleep you’re everywhere~
~You’re
everywhere~
Her eyes
stayed closed wanting to remain wrapped within the dream that visited her every
night since the first time she had seen him strutting out to the ring in his
baggy denim shorts and too big singlet.
She had been
nobody then, the new girl, the rookie and he the established wrestler with
nothing but success in front of him. He had built his dreams on making it in
the WWE and by hook and by crook, he had.
People flocked
to see him. Fans and colleagues adored him, even those who professed to loathe
him. There was just something about John Cena, some essence of manliness that
was totally his own.
She could feel
it filling her nostrils right now, taking control of her thoughts and sending
her senses into over drive.
There was just
no getting away from him and she found she liked it that way… and then she’d
wake up.
~Just tell me
how I got this far~
~Just tell me
why you’re here~
~And who you
are~
~Cause every
time I look~
~You’re never
there~
~And every
time I sleep~
~You’re always
there~
She had no
idea when it had happened, when exactly she had started to think of it more
then just a dream.
It was funny
really when she found herself thinking about it because he was totally not her
type. He was brash, hard headed, very opinionated, very
focused and very, very much the gentleman.
It was that
last quality that had her stumped because it was that quality he showered on
every other dive, but her… and then she’d close her eyes…
~Cause you’re
everywhere to me~
~And when I
close my eyes it’s you I see~
~You’re
everything I know~
~That makes me
believe~
~I’m not
alone~
~I’m not
alone~
…and it’d be
the absolute opposite.
He was like a
ray of sunshine on her face, a gentle breeze, wholly beautiful and cloaked in
wonder.
This was there
time when everything in her world fell into place all because he was in it.
~I recognise the way you make me feel~
~It’s hard to
think that you may not be real~
~I sense it
now, the waters getting deep~
~I try ti wash the pain away from me~
~Away from me~
A blush would
highlight her cheeks every time she thought of this as love.
Was she crazy
to be in love with a man who would walk straight passed her if he saw her in a
hallway, a store or on a street?
She saw him
walking towards her now. His brows furrowed and his eyes thoughtful.
He only
noticed the beautiful divas, the popular divas, the sexy divas… - Her heart sank.
- …all the things she was obviously not he proved when yet again he continued
on passed her without a second look.
She smiled
anyway, she always did. Because she knew in another place and time things were
different.
~Cause you’re
everywhere to me~
~And when I
close my eyes it’s you I see~
~You’re
everything I know~
~That makes me
believe~
~I’m not
alone~
~I’m not
alone~
~I am not
alone~
She pushed off
the wall she’d been leaning again and closed her eyes as she breathed in the
scent of his aftershave that lingered in the hallway. A scent she knew by
heart, allowing it to surround her and carry her off to that plane reserved
wholly for the two of them.
A place where she wasn’t alone.
~And when I
touch you’re hand~
~Its then I
understand~
~That beauty
that’s within~
~It’s now that
we begin~
~You always
light my way~
~I hope there
never comes a day~
~No matter
where I go~
~I always feel
you so~
We were meant
to be.
Plain and simple.
Him and I.
It’s what I
feel in my heart and in my soul and the beauty of it is its something no one
can take away from me.
~Cause you’re
everywhere to me~
~And when I
catch my breath it’s you I breathe~
~You’re
everything I know~
~That makes me
believe~
~I’m not
alone~
~I’m not
alone~
She started
walking then. Her head held his and a confident look on her face. This was the
reaction he had on her. He was a life saving drug flowing through her system,
reviving her, replenishing her, making her complete.
She wasn’t
alone at all… she was far from it.
There was
always that one question though drumming away in the back of her mind and it
was that question that shone from her eyes when she turned at the end of the
hallway to see him standing there surrounded by a group of his friends…
~Do you see me?~
…But just like
when she was a rookie his gaze went straight over her and in return as always
Dawn Marie continued on down the hallway and didn’t look back once.
~Do you see me?~
