Camille sat and looked out the window. She had watched Shawn drive off from that same spot three hours ago. He left her without saying a word. She read his eyes and knew exactly what he was thinking. When he was with her, there were no strings attached it was just Cammy and Shawn. He did not have to worry about impressing her; she knew his good qualities. Then he went back to the WWF. Camille was hurt because for seven months she didn’t see or hear from him. Then he just showed up. How could he just leave her?

Shawn drove on the interstate and shook his head. Camille was something to him. More than a hobby, unlike the other girls he had dated. He had met Camille at a party in Austin. She was beautiful. She stood awesomely at 6-foot, with crystal blue eyes, luscious lips, shoulder length hair and a smile brightened up the room. He immediately approached her and invited her to stay with him. No hanky panky just pleasant conversation and whatever else happened would happen. Surprisingly, she agreed. They had been together even since. She was there as his support. She loved him at his worse and at his best. She stayed when everyone else left him. Shawn stopped at the stop sign and hit the steering wheel. Damn, how could she not tell him? How could she just not pick up the phone?

It's over and done

but the heartache lives on inside

and who's the one you're clinging to

instead of me tonight?

Camille walked upstairs and cut the lights off downstairs as she went. For seven months she had held on to the hope that Shawn was just caught up with being back. That he wasn’t purposely ignoring her. She was proven wrong tonight. Shawn was the first guy she had committed to seriously. Hell she would have given up all she had for him. She almost did. Camille sighed as she remembered the nights she would watch him and cringed. Then the one time her greatest fear happened. She hated that it happened but her secret desire was for them to settle down and really commit to each other. It worked for a year and two months. Then Vince called and wanted him as the commissioner. Camille was happy for him. She knew that he missed his friends and more importantly wrestling. She walked into the bathroom and ran some bath water. The love he had for wrestling never compared the love he had for her.

Shawn arrived at the arena and was lost in thought. “Shawn, where’s Camille? I thought you left to go get her?” Hunter questioned as Shawn looked at him. He couldn’t express what he felt. He couldn’t explain why he had left with out saying a word. Shawn sighed and shook his head. “She’s pregnant. She didn’t have the decency to call and tell me.” Shawn said as Hunter looked at him questionably. “So you had the decency to call and talk with her? Shawn, this is the first time you have actually been home in close to seven months. Imagine what she had gone through. Not to mention that if she still talks to people what she has heard.” Hunter said as Shawn looked at him. “Damn it, all I’m saying is all she had to do was call and tell me.” Shawn said as they walked to the dressing room. “Would you have gone to her?” Hunter asked as Shawn lay on the couch. “Yes, I would have dropped everything. I would have brought her with me. Hell I have missed her. Hunter, this is different than before. I had so much free time and now, I can’t remember who I am had the time.” Shawn said as Hunter nodded. “I am glad you can tell me this but Cammy is the one who needs to hear this.” Hunter said as he moved to get ready.

And where are you now, now that I need you?

Tears on my pillow wherever you go

I'll cry me a river that leads to your ocean

You never see me fall apart

Camille debated on watching wrestling. She did not want to torment herself by seeing what had walked out on her six hours ago. She reached into her CD case and picked out CDs to help her take her mind off of Shawn. She moved to the couch and reached for the portable one for the baby. She always played classical for him. It eased him. Camille started to cry as she realized that she had so much to tell Shawn. Just as she had got comfortable with her book, the phone rang. Camille sighed and refused to answer it. However curiosity got the best of her and she at least had to glance at the caller id. She picked up as she noticed it was Hunter’s cell phone. “Hello?” Camille said as Hunter laughed. “I see you still screen your calls. How are you?” Camille shook her head. “Hemsley why do you insist on mindless formalities. I am good and you?”

Hunter smiled, as he heard her laugh. Camille was someone he considered a friend and a confidant more importantly. He entrusted more to her than anyone else. He hoped that she felt the same way. “I am okay… I was looking forward to seeing you. So you can imagine how disappointed I was when Shawn arrived without you.” Hunter responded as he heard Camille exhale. “I am sorry about that but you know where I live. I mean that is if Stephanie clears it for you to visit me.” Camille answered as Hunter could not help but laugh. “So, how is the baby?”

“He is good, he is due anyday now.” Camille said as she realized Hunter probably had forgotten to breath. “Does Shawn know this?” Hunter questioned as Kevin walked in the room. “He didn’t stay long enough to find out anything.” Camille said. “He has a lot on him and…” Hunter paused as Camille exhaled sharply. “Hunter, I know you are…” Camille paused as she felt a sharp pain, “I know you mean well but if Shawn can’t grow up then I don’t know where we stand.” Hunter looked at Kevin as Camille hung up the phone. Kev, how do you know when a woman is in labor?” Hunter asked as Kevin looked at him. “She is normally screaming everything in the book and in a lot of pain.” Kevin said as he laced up his boots. “No, like the beginning stages.” Hunter specified as Kevin nodded. “Umm, she really does not say much. It is weird because she really can’t. Contractions are starting and water breaking. It is important to make sure someone is there you know to observe things.” Kevin said as Hunter left to find Shawn.

In the words of a broken heart

It's just emotion that's taken me over

Caught up in sorrow, lost in my soul

But if you don't come back

Come home to me, darling

Don't you know there's nobody left in this world

to hold me tight

Don't cha know there's nobody left in this world to kiss goodnight

Goodnight, goodnight

Shawn sat and watched the show. He had spoken his peace for the evening. It was taking all he had not to leave and go to Camille. He wanted to know how far along she was. What she or they were having. He wanted to make amends for so much. “Shawn!” Hunter said out of breath. “Hunter, what’s up with you?” Shawn asked. “I just … talked with Cammy.” Hunter said as he paused to regain his composure. “What’s wrong with Cammy?” Shawn asked as Hunter tried to talk. “She’s due anyday with a boy and I think she may be going into labor.” Hunter said as Shawn stood up. “How long ago did you talk with her?” Shawn questioned. “About 10 minutes ago, I just don’t want something to happen to her.” Hunter said as Shawn turned to get his stuff and leave. “Neither do I!”

Camille sat and timed her contractions. Her water broke luckily in the bathroom. So far her last contraction happened 45 minutes ago. She debated calling Shawn. Just then a contraction hit her. She rubbed her stomach and reached for the phone. Camille dialed the number and waited. “Damn Nextel!” She said as she left a message. She looked for Hunter’s cell number and called it. “Hello?” Kevin said as Camille thought for a moment. “Kevin, hey it is Cammy, where’s Hunter?” “He is in the ring, where are you? I thought you were going to be here tonight.” Kevin questioned. “It’s a long story. Have you seen Shawn?” Camille asked as she rubbed her tummy. “Yeah, he left out of her like a bat out of hell. I think he was on his way to see you.” Kevin said as Camille scratched her head. “How did he know I was in labor though?” “Who were you talking to before?” Kevin asked as Camille nodded. “I am going to let you go. Concentrate on your breathing and call back if you need anything.” Kevin said as he hung up.

I'm there at your side,

I'm part of all the things you are

But you've got a part of someone else

You've got to find your shining star

Shawn drove and tried to remain calm. Not only was Camille in labor but she was having a boy. She was having him a son. Shawn said a silent prayer that things remained cool until he got there. He had faith in Camille. She was a smart girl. He noticed the thunder sounds and glanced to see if it was lightning. Camille hated lightning. Shawn picked up his phone and tried to call her. “Damn Nextel!” He said as he realized he was not in area. Shawn thought of the last time that he and Camille was together. It suddenly hit him that she was at least two at that point. Shawn sighed as he remembered that she didn’t want him to go to back but it was what he needed. Shawn was too stupid to see that she was what he needed.

Camille moved to the floor and concentrated on her breathing. Her contractions were thirty minutes apart. She was okay about getting to the hospital. She had some time. Then the lightning flashed. She jumped and felt another contraction. She glanced at her stopwatch and noticed thirteen minutes. As she reached to call to at least go to the hospital the lights kicked off. Damnit, why me?” Camille said aloud as she moved to light some candles. Camille hated the darkness and the noises. Hell she had the lightning more. She tried to tune the lightning and thunder out but was not successful. Camille cried as she needed Shawn there. Where was he?

And where are you now, now that I need you?

Tears on my pillow wherever you go

I'll cry me a river that leads to your ocean

You never see me fall apart

Camille felt another contraction and did her breathing. She could do this. She could, she had gone through nine months with carrying this child and she could have it. Camille pulled the blanket out the couch. She was cold. She heard the rainfall and concentrated on her breathing and coached herself. She giggled as she maneuvered to reached down and feel how dilated she was. Too bad there was not an obstetrician that got caught in the storm and needed rest. Camille noticed the headlights and instantly knew she was not that lucky. She heard the footsteps and knew it was Shawn.

“Camille, are you okay?” Shawn asked as Camille nodded. “As good as I can be. Can you check to see how dilated I am?” Camille asked as Shawn nodded and moved between her legs. “If you can get past my cervix with your hand then I need to think about pushing and stuff.” Camille said as Shawn tested. “Nope, I can’t get past it. How far apart are your contractions?” Shawn asked. “Last one was ten minutes ago.” Camille said as she felt Shawn massaged her legs. “It’s going to be okay.” Shawn said as Camille started to cry.

In the words of a broken heart

It's just emotion that's taken me over

Caught up in sorrow, lost in my soul

But if you don't come back

Come home to me, darling

Don’t you know there's nobody left in this world

to hold me tight

Nobody left in this world to kiss goodnight

Goodnight, goodnight

“Sweetie, why are you crying?” Shawn asked as Camille sniffled. “I am just thinking that after tonight I will hardly see you.” Camille said as Shawn sat back on his butt. He propped up on his knees and thought for a moment. He wanted to promise that he would be there for her and the baby, but he was not sure if that was what she really wanted to hear. “You know what just ignore me. I am just so damn emotion with the baby and all.” Camille said as she felt another contraction. She looked at the watch and swallowed hard. “Shawn, the contractions are five minutes apart.” Camille said as Shawn moved back to his position. “Is it time for you to start pushing?” Shawn asked as he wished he watched those Baby Stories on TLC.

Camille was about to answer as she noticed the lights. “Who is that?” Camille asked as Shawn walked to the window and noticed the rental car. “It’s Hunter and Kevin.” Shawn said as he walked out to greet them. “Is she okay?” Hunter asked as Shawn noticed they had someone else with them. “Yeah, her contractions are five minutes apart. Who is that?” Shawn asked as he saw the man. “Dr. Williams, normally he only does orthopedic things but he also can do the baby thing as well.” Kevin said as Camille screamed. The four men rushed in the house and Dr. Williams made formal introductions. Kevin took Shawn into the kitchen. Hunter moved to comfort Camille.

“How are you?” Kevin asked as he looked in her refrigerator. “I am overwhelmed. I mean damn, she is in there having my son.” Shawn answered as he heard Hunter coaching Camille. “Don’t worry… Hunter only knows that stuff because of his sister.” Kevin said as Shawn looked out the window. “Kev, I can’t leave her like this. I just can’t leave her with my child and live my life like it’s not the different.” Shawn admitted as Kevin sat down. “I can’t tell you what to do. But if you truly care for her, then you will stand by her. If you are unsure, then take the next six weeks to figure it out. Don’t put her through unneed stress.” Kevin said as Hunter entered the kitchen. “Shawn, she needs you.” Hunter said as Shawn walked to the living room.

And where are you now, now that I need you?

Tears on my pillow wherever you go

I'll cry me a river that leads to your ocean

You never see me fall apart

Camille exhaled as she heard Tomas cry. She loved him more than life itself. Tomas Camden was what she lived for these days. For the past five weeks, Shawn called to check on things. He even had Taker and Austin stop by to make sure things were okay. They even brought her groceries and whatever else she needed. She was comfortable with that. She had gone to the doctor and noticed the women with their husbands. That is what she wanted. She wanted Shawn there to rub her back and offer to hold Tomas or change his diaper. She shook the thought and pick up Tomas. “You miss Mommie!” Camille said soothingly as Tomas’ cries quieted. Camille moved to the rocking chair and paused to turn the stereo on. She still played the classical music. His favorite was anything by Beethoven or Handel. Tomas fed every 2 hours and was closely approaching that time. She got him settled to fed and comfortable.

Shawn had worked out having the next week off. He wanted to spend time with Camille and Tomas. Taker and Austin said things were cool. Tomas was a mild mannered baby. You hardly knew that he was there. More importantly, Camille was doing well. She wasn’t feeling anything crazy. No baby blues…anything. She was a proud mother of a precious little boy. Shawn had followed Kevin’s advice and thought about Camille. They had been together too long for him to chalk it up. He tried not calling or thinking about her but it didn’t work. He could tell by the sound of her voice that she missed him, too. He pulled up in the driveway and smiled. This was it.

In the words of a broken heart

It's just emotion that's taken me over

Caught up in sorrow, lost in my soul

But if you don't come back

Come home to me, darling

Nobody left in this world

to hold me tight

Nobody left in this world to kiss goodnight

Goodnight, goodnight

Shawn opened the door and noticed Camille sleep in the rocking chair. Tomas was still feeding steadily at her breast. He eased quietly in the house. Carefully not to wake Cammy because she looked so peaceful. Shawn noticed that Tomas was now sucking at his fingers and gently took him from Camille’s arms. He walked to sit with him on the couch. Shawn placed him in his lap and looked at him. He noticed that his hair color was going to be a mystery. He had a mixed of their eyes. Shawn smiled at the fact Tomas has Cammy’s lips. He picked him up and kissed him. He placed Tomas on his shoulder to burp him. Tomas sighed and fell asleep. Shawn moved quietly and laid him in the bassinet. He then focused his attention on Camille.

Shawn gently pulled her up from the chair. He smiled as he eased her onto the couch.  Shawn noticed her stretch and lay down. He placed a blanket over her and moved to the kitchen. Shawn pushed the bassinet into the kitchen. He didn’t want Tomas to wake Camille. She needed her rest. Shawn opened the refrigerator and pulled out the steaks. Camille was not much of a steak lover until they got together. He washed and wrapped the potatoes. He placed them in the oven and checked on Tomas. He was stretching so much that Shawn was convinced he was growing. Shawn smiled as he reached for the vegetables to make a salad. Camille deserved this special night she deserved it all.

Camille woke up and smiled. Tomas had allowed her to get in a good nap before she tackled making dinner. As she sat up, she realized the bassinet was gone. She began to panic until she heard a distinct Tomas noise come from the kitchen. Camille walked to the kitchen and noticed Shawn holding him. She smiled as Shawn had him looking at the window and showing him things. Shawn turned to place Tomas down as he saw Camille. “You look rested.” Shawn joked as he placed Tomas in her arms. “I feel little rested thanks. Now, I will be able to handle those midnight feedings.” Camille said as she snuggled to Tomas. “So, that’s where he gets that from. I knew it.” Shawn teased as Camille looked at him. “I thought you liked it when I snuggled next to you.” “I still do.” Shawn said as he watched Camille lay Tomas down. “So, are you going to be snuggling next to me tonight?” Camille questioned as she walked up behind Shawn. “Yeah, consider it an emotion I can’t let go of.” Shawn said as he kissed her.
