Ashley sat on the wooden porch. She smelt the food that was cooking in the kitchen. She couldn't believe that she was there. She was a little unsure about his intentions. Everyone hinted that he was still in love with Amy. So maybe this was just a trick on his part. Ashley tried to hold back her feelings. It just seemed right but then she noticed he would go out of his way to talk to her. He mysteriously would call her "accidentally" and they would talk for hours. They would bump into each other. Ashley was floored when she learned that they had dinner several times and even kissed. Needless to say she had little faith in where this relationship could go from here.
Matt sat in the kitchen. He had to gather his thoughts. Ashley had put it out there. She cared for him but felt she could not trust him. He was not over Amy. She was so bold as to state that he used Lori just to make Amy jealous. He could not shake the vision of the pain he saw in Ashley's eyes when she asked if she was there to take Amy's place. There were so many similarities. Amy was just as inexperienced as Ashley when she met Matt. Ashley did not understand how his hands were binded. She wanted to be a wrestler. So they had to pair her with someone and why not him. He wanted to tell Ashley that he was over Amy but he had not achieved closure with Amy. Ashley was looking for Matt to be the love of her life forever. Matt just wanted to take it a day at a time.
Ashley walked in the house and noticed Matt. He was not sure how to handle this situation. He noticed her standing against the door frame. He cleared his throat and began.
"Ashley, I am not sure what you want me to say or do but I can only tell you what is in my heart. There is a part of me that wants to swear off relationships forever. Then there is a part of me that wants to give it one more try. I met you and instantly fell for you. I don't want to hurt you but I can't rush myself into being committed to you too quickly." Matt concluded as he began to set the table.
"That's all you can say to me. I tell you that I care so much for you and that in return makes you feel rushed. Amy has moved on and you are stuck in a fantasy. If you let go of the notion that she is coming back to you, then may be you could be happy and enjoy what is in front of you. I cannot handle this anymore. I am on my way to being a successful diva. I do not need a relationship with a man who is secure about everything but his heart. You fought to get your job back. Fight to get your heart back as well. I am not not feeling hungry nor to being alone with you. I am going to get a room in town. How about you call me when your heart has changed and becomes free.
